Showing The Charming, Multi-Faceted Work By Paul Critchley At Scope Miami Beach 2018
12/4/2018
There is something quite charming about these pieces by Critchley, these landscapes that can be opened and closed (changing or hiding the painting as the case may be). The idea seems so simple but, of course, YOU didn't think of it.
Note on the second piece how the interior "window" looking outward is itself a landscape. These paintings are actually many paintings and all it took was hinges. Both pieces are oil on canvas on hardwood board.
The gallery website writes, as a question; why does the world need another art gallery? They answer "no."
The world may not NEED another art gallery, in much the same way I do not need another beer. Odds are I will have one though.
